Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA adds a second layer of security to your account. Even if someone gets your password, they can't sign in without your phone.

What You Need

• Your smartphone
• The Microsoft Authenticator app (free from App Store or Google Play)

Setup Steps

1. Go to aka.ms/mysecurityinfo
2. Click Add sign-in method
3. Select Authenticator app and click Add
4. Open the Authenticator app on your phone and tap + to add an account
5. Choose Work or school account
6. Scan the QR code shown on your screen
7. Click Next — you'll get a test notification on your phone
8. Approve the notification to complete setup

Signing In With MFA

After setup, when you sign in you'll enter your password as usual, then approve a notification on your phone. This takes about 3 seconds.
