Troubleshooting Outlook Not Syncing
If Outlook isn't sending/receiving email or shows as disconnected, try these steps in order.
Step 1: Check Your Internet
- Open a web browser and go to any website
- If the web works but Outlook doesn't, continue to Step 2
Step 2: Restart Outlook
- Close Outlook completely (check the system tray for the icon)
- Reopen Outlook and wait 30 seconds for it to sync
Step 3: Check Work Offline Mode
- Go to the Send/Receive tab
- If Work Offline is highlighted/active, click it to turn it off
Step 4: Clear Credentials
- Close Outlook
- Open Control Panel > Credential Manager
- Under Windows Credentials, remove any entries for
outlook or microsoft - Reopen Outlook and sign in when prompted
